As expected, though, the world didn’t think much of Tristan Verona.

On the other hand, the Verona name wasn’t a stranger to discussion.

Book clubs and online forums alike knew Julian Verona fairly well.

The fantasy author had written many wondrous tales involving hidden worlds and creatures of myth. Icy dragons, swords of crystal, and libraries of old, nothing new or revolutionary per se, but the penmanship of the writer had something truly enchanting about it.

It had been years since Verona had released anything new. Stories had been left unfinished with characters frozen in the formless void of the absence of ink.

Many had theorized that the author had simply written himself into a corner, unable to find a satisfying way out of his narrative weavings. Others had imagined that the ending of his incomplete saga was such a complex undertaking that he needed time to fully fulfil it.

Tristan didn’t really care about all that. Unlike the rest of the world, he hadn’t been starved of the stories of his father. Many evening walks along the rocky beaches of Penmon Point had lent themselves to intricate epics recounting popular myths and fables of old.

Julian Verona might have been a topic of discussion, but Tristan Verona was a name that had yet to be imprinted on the collective consciousness of the world.

When he learned about the Penwick School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the young boy understood that this was his chance. He would attend this school, make his way to the top, and carve his name in stone.

OOC : Intended as a bit of available lore to determine if the Verona name might ring a bell for anyone interacting with Tristan. Also open to anyone who wishes to explore how they might have interacted with any of the Verona books or even been left on a cliffhanger before Penwick.
