The Headmistress’s office is a half-circle chamber, its wide curve lined with tall windows. Hanging glass ornaments catch the sun and scatter it in fractured colours across the room. Near the large desk, a tall glass vessel of enchanted liquid ebbs and rises in slow, hypnotic shapes. Portraits of each past Headmaster and Headmistress fill the flattened wall from floor to ceiling. They watch, argue, and mutter amongst themselves. The curved wall of windows allows for the most picturesque view of the Penwick grounds. Troublemakers beware, from here, the Headmistress sees everything, even the students skipping lessons in the fields below.
