Physical Description
A pre-teen girl of slighty-below-average height. As a habitual swimmer, Kenna's form is lithe but strong. She has dark brown hair, which is usually pulled back into twin pigtails or braids, and dark brown eyes. Her skin is pale, but her face is speckled with a riot of mud-colored freckles. She often smiles with her mouth closed, as she is insecure about her crooked teeth, which her parents refuse to have spelled straight until she has fully finished growing.
Personality Description
Kenna is an energetic and curious young woman who has spent most of her life in and around the River Avon. Her hobbies include playing imagination games and fossil hunting (the Kellaways are a famous site for aquatic fossils embedded in the limestone along the banks of the River Avon) with her best friend Zari. Homeschooled and having spent most of her socialization with her non-human lifelong friend, Kenna's interactions with her human peers can sometimes be awkward. Kenna has a vivacious spirit and body, but when the need arises, she can focus intensely on scholarly persuits. She is particularly interested in natural and elemental magics.

Backstory
As Kenna was born and raised in Wiltshire within an hour's drive of Cardiff, she was alway of the opinion she would be attending Penwick come her eleventh year.
For generations, her family has run a successful business which deals in alchemical ingredients found in freshwater rivers. Partnered with a community of Merfolk who call the River Avon their home, the Kell family stock multiple warehouses of both plant and animal products, and ship their goods to businesses across the UK and Europe. Kenna's mother, Carmine Kell, is in charge of accounting and dealing with clients, while her father, Kamden Kell, is a warehouse manager and Merfolk Liason. Kamden is the third son of the current Family Head, Kirsten Kell, Kenna's grandparent. Kenna has an older brother Kenan, aged 15, who aspires to take over the family business someday. After much begging, he convinced his family to allow him to attend Hogwarts. He will begin his 5th year as a Slytherin student on September 1st.
Kenna's closest friend is Zari, a young Merfolk girl who happens to be the daughter of the Cheiftain that currently governs the underwater settlement that works in tandem with the Kell family.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Carmine - Perpetually overworked and often absent during most hours of the day, but finds the time to read with Kenna each night before bed.
Kamden - Kenna grew up accompanying him to his job. She greatly enjoyed running around her family's warehouses with him and playing with the equipment. The two are very close.
Kenan - Kenna and Kenan have a distant relationship. His controlled demanor and wild ambition do not mesh well with Kenna's rough-and-tumble ways and boundless curiosity. Kenan finds his younger sister to be an annoying, distracting nuisance the majority of the time.
Kirsten - With Kenan firmly in the position of favorite grandchild, Kenna's relationship with Kirsten Kell is not particularly close. Cold and austere, Kirsten nevertheless earns their granddaughter's respect due to their profitable and extremely ethical business practices.
Zari - Best friends practically since birth, Zari and Kenna spend their days together indulging in imagination, curiosity, and adventure. A bubbly young Mermaid, Zari's bright personality serves as a balanced counter to Kenna's more blunt leanings. Atypically of their respective species, Zari speaks fluent English, and Kenna fluent Mermish (River Dialect) as a direct result of their close relationship.
First Instance of Accidental Magic
Around the age of 4, Kenna snuck out of the house to go and play with her best friend Zari, the young daughter of her father's chief business partner among the Merfolk. After a few minutes of panic, the toddler was located magically running atop the surface of the River Avon, chasing dragonflies with her mermaid companion.
