Physical Description
Maggie has never focused on appearing palatable or "clean" to others. Pale skin, poorly done makeup, and curly dyed auburn hair teased to high heavens, Maggie comes off as a hot mess to those around her. She has big, expressive brown eyes and a smattering of light freckles upon her nose and round cheeks.

Maggie smells of citrus and vanilla.
Personality Description
It is better to be known for something than known for nothing at all. It's a practice Maggie has lived by all her life. Loud, boisterous, attention-grabbing, it's difficult not to notice Maggie. Hell, it's difficult not to get drawn in, in some capacity, by the odd mannerisms and connection to her muggle side that her peers seem to have shoved to the back of their minds.

Maggie's drive for everything is a desire to be liked, to be wanted. She'll hitch her horse to whoever she thinks might like her the best, and she'll ride that horse until it's skin and bones, seeped of all its energy. Loyal to a fault, Maggie is willing to push aside red flags and glaring issues in favor of being a part of something. She's selfish, though, a voracious black hole that sucks up everything it can get its calloused hands around.

Even so, Maggie is incredibly earnest, doing everything (or, at least, the things she deems worthwhile) with 100% conviction, even if it might be out of the best interest of others. Funny, witty, and charismatic, those who aren't close to Maggie might think her a wonderful friend. Those unfortunate enough to be close to her would tell you that she's clingy, self-conscious, and envious, but Maggie would maintain that those are normal traits.

Maggie comes off as sarcastic and abrasive at times, lacking tact and the social cues to keep her thoughts and feelings inside, even if they aren't very nice.

As mentioned before, Maggie is in tune with her muggle side. Feeling largely cast aside by her pureblood family, she clings to the media and fun she had when she believed herself to be a muggle, and uniquely seems to feel more comfortable and happy identifying as a muggle than as a witch.
Backstory
Born screaming and crying on the sunny afternoon of March 7 to Saoirse Hawkins and Vernon Doyle, Margaret Joyce Hawkins-Doyle was the apple of her parents' eye for all of five minutes. Her time was spent playing with blocks out in the garden while her parents argued in the kitchen, talking to no one in particular and building dirt towers dotted with worms.

Her childhood was decidedly non-magical, as Saoirse never expected to have a child with her muggle boyfriend to begin with. Upon realizing his girlfriend was a witch, a horrified Vernon packed his bags and ran for the hills, leaving a young Maggie and a heartbroken Saoirse in his wake. For a fresh start, Saoirse moved the little family to Wexford, Ireland. In Wexford, Maggie often struggled to make friends, too loud and disruptive to be enjoyable.

Within two years of her father's departure, Saoirse had found herself a new beau: Albert Nithercott, a pureblood heir approved of by the Hawkins extended family. The two had Theresa, who was hailed as a little miracle due to her pureblood blood status. She was all the things that Maggie was not. Pure, agreeable.

Maggie displayed her first signs of magic rather late, at the age of ten, in 2020. Her Hogwarts acceptance letter arrived by owl within the next year, and Maggie was sorted into Slytherin house.

Her first few years at Hogwarts were fun. A Quidditch superstar and one of the team chasers, Maggie found herself completely enamored with sports and the screaming of bloodthirsty fans. She maintained a solid middle-of-the-road grade average. It didn't matter anyway, because her extended family wouldn't matter regardless of if she made solid O marks.

Things changed midway through fourth year. A mental slump, marked by confusion, conflict, and an unhealthy obsession with a best friend who was focused more on grimoires and blood sacrifices (Maggie's words), Maggie's grades slipped. She failed to stay on the Quidditch team. She got a pair of socks for Christmas from her grandmother and watched her young sister open a set of gold-plated earrings.

June Selwyn told her about Penwick, another school. Said she was transferring. Reluctant to let another best friend leave her behind, Maggie pled with her mother and successfully transferred schools in search of better grades, a fresh start, and her best friend.
First Instance of Accidental Magic
In June of 2020, sitting in her class and yammering to her classmates about her brand new pencil, Maggie was told off by her teacher. Frustrated and confused about why she'd been asked to pipe down, Maggie mouthed back. At the threat of detention, her teacher's inkwell exploded all over the desk, coating the surface in a thick, violet-black layer of ink.
