MAISIE is around 5’8” (approx. 173 cm) and always smiling, though it’s often more akin to a baring of teeth than a gesture of kindness. Her body is threaded with wiry muscle, primarily around her shoulders and arms. Everywhere you look at her is bright, from her head of (faintly wavy) blonde hair that hangs in layers over her shoulders, to her green eyes, or even to her choice of gold jewelry. Freckles are faintly scattered over her arms and shoulders, as well as a few on her face. Her nose has a bump on the bridge—a product of breaking it one too many times when she was younger. She smells slightly like citrus (lemons/oranges).

Personality Description
At first glance, MAISIE doesn’t seem like much more than a girl with a fiery temper. She’s quick to bite out a retort or issue a sarcastic comment, and even quicker to pick a fight or throw a punch. Though she can come across as rude, it’s not as though she automatically hates every person she comes across. Rather, MAISIE rarely thinks before she speaks (or acts). She says whatever comes to mind without a second thought, driven almost entirely by instinct and emotion. Impulsive at best and reckless at worst, she often moves without looking back, and finds herself dealing with the consequences in the aftermath.
Loud and outgoing, MAISIE is not one to fade into the background. She doesn’t need/want to be the constant center of attention, but she cannot exist without making herself heard. If she has an opinion on something, she will make it known—without hesitation. She hates the idea of being silenced almost as much as she dislikes rules and routines. As an impulsive decision maker, MAISIE prefers to carve her own path as she goes, rather than laying out plans in advance or (god forbid) having someone else choose her path for her.
Despite being rough around the edges, MAISIE is deeply devoted to the people she chooses to care about. Instead of drifting between different groups, she chooses a few whom she presents with a loyalty that is almost doglike in nature. She is as defensive of them as she is of herself; if someone were to hurt one of her friends, her reaction is almost always bigger, louder, and more explosive than the situation calls for. And while her emotions are rarely hidden from anyone (she is awful at concealing anything, let alone her feelings), she finds herself being more open to those that she finds she can trust.
Around those closest to her, her fire doesn’t disappear. It just burns differently. Her sarcastic jabs and sharp remarks give way to sarcastic comments and teasing. To strangers, MAISIE is a spark waiting to catch. To those she loves, she’s more like the sun.
Her hobbies include playing the drums/guitar (though she’s pretty awful at both), learning to ride her motorcycle, boxing, running, & listening to music.
Backstory
MAISIE SOL is the only daughter of LEINA ELISABETH SOL, a pureblood witch, and JAMES WALLACE, a muggle. Her mother, LEINA SOL, was raised in a cloistered family in Wales. Much like her daughter, LEINA had a penchant for spontaneity, as well as an animosity toward rules and routines. As such, she often butted heads with most other members of her family, and grew tired of both their strict social conventions and those of the wider wizarding world as she grew up. And so, at 18, she found herself impulsively deciding to travel the wider (muggle) world on a whim after graduating from Hogwarts.
Her trip, which was initially planned to be just a few weeks, stretched into months, and then years. The more she traveled, the less she spoke with her family, until she lost contact almost entirely. The estrangement between her and her family only grew when, after a few years into her travels, she met a muggle named JAMES WALLACE. The two hit it off immediately. One thing led to another, and they fell in love with one another, got married in a small ceremony, and ended up moving to Ventura, California, not far from where JAMES grew up.
MAISIE was born in July of 2010, years into JAMES’s and LEINA’s relationship. She was raised by both parents in sometimes-sunny Ventura, California, until her parents’ divorce in 2016 (when she was six). After the divorce, MAISIE’s mother became her primary caretaker, though she still divided her time between both parents’ houses. Despite being raised by her mother, MAISIE grew up in outside the magic community, which her mother had lost ties to (and seemed to have no interest in) after years living abroad. In a sense, the magical world was entirely unfamiliar to her. As such, MAISIE had what could be called a “typical” muggle upbringing (aside from a few weird interactions with electronics)—until her first accidental run-in with magic. After this, LEINA was forced to teach her daughter about the world she’d left behind, and educate her on all she thought she’d never have to. Three years after her first encounter with magic, a letter from Penwick arrived on their front stoop, and MAISIE was pulled into the wider wizarding world.
Since MAISIE’s offer of attendance from Penwick, her mother has moved back to Wales, and now lives in Cardiff (with MAISIE, when she’s on break from Penwick), though without connection to their family. As of current day, MAISIE has attended Penwick since she was a First-Year.

First Instance of Accidental Magic
MAISIE’s first encounter with magic happened when she was around nine years old. She’d started boxing when she was around six (as a way to blow off steam), and started competing when she was around eight to nine years old. During one of her first matches, a referee made a call that MAISIE found unfair at the time—something about a foul on her part that cost her more than a few points. MAISIE found herself easily miffed and annoyed at her loss. Her anger/annoyance materialized in a small set of sparks that caused a nearby floormat to catch fire. Though the flames were small and quickly subdued, nobody could tell what had caused the mat to catch. None except for her mother, LEINA, who realized what caused the fire.
