Storyteller Role & System

While rules and guidelines are essential to help maintain a roleplaying community, overly strict moderation can limit the stories some community members want to explore. The Storyteller role exists to balance these two things, allowing writers to engage in more complex narratives within Penwick while still respecting the community rating and established lore.
A Storyteller is a member of the community who is granted additional freedoms to participate in storylines and interactions that require careful handling and balance. This includes creating or interacting with unique magical phenomena, interactions with dangerous magical creatures, using unforgivables, and more.
It’s important to note that the Storyteller role is entirely optional. Many members enjoy rich, engaging experiences on Penwick.ink without it, and it is by no means necessary to have fun, explore the forums, or fully participate in roleplay here.
The Storyteller role is granted to members who have demonstrated consistent engagement with the Penwick community and a responsible approach to roleplay. To ensure fairness, eligibility is based on clear, objective criteria rather than subjective assessments of writing skill.
Requirements for the Storyteller role:
If you are denied the storyteller role, a staff member will message you explaining why, as well as what would need to be done to rectify concerns. You are welcome to reapply 3 months after your initial application.
Remember, the role is not a reward for writing quality or popularity; it is a permission tier based on trust and responsibility.
